the online live music gig guide for birmingham & the midlands

John Q Public

John Q Public is the brand new name for the established Cardiff punk rock band May Contain Nuts.

To date the band have played 350+ shows including festivals, a tour of Germany and have played along side many established acts such as The Misfits, The Damned, Sonic Boom Six, King Blues and more.

Known by fans and friends for putting on very fast, energetic and entertaining stage shows, John Q Public never disappoint live and always leave even the most miserable bastard with a smile on their face. Their songs are fast, melodic and extremely catchy and always get the audience dancing.

Ditching the immature image that has held them back for years whilst keeping the fun and energy of the old band intact, John Q Public are ready to take the music scene by storm!

They are currently receiving regular airplay on South Wales based station Nation Radio and have also featured on BBC Introducing with Tom Robinson, Exeter based station Phonic FM and Adam Walton's BBC radio show.

The band's music has also appeared in some films and television shows, including Channel 4's "Freesports on 4" and independent skating/graffiti documentary "How to eat an elephant".
